Tomorrow morning is the day I leave for Tanzania. The anxious thinking has started. Have I done
everything I need to do? Have I packed everything? Will my alarm go off? Will
the roads be clear? Last evening, 2 cousins texted me just before I went to bed
wishing me a fun and safe sojourn in Africa.
“Ha Ha,” I thought, “They think I’m leaving tomorrow.” As I settled into
sleep, I decided to rouse myself and bring up the Delta App so that I was sure
to get notifications. As my account came
up, the message reported, “11 hours to check in.” WHAT??!! Tomorrow I leave? Is today really
Wednesday? Would will I do? As panic set in, the voice of Rod Sterling echoed
in my head, “You have just entered the Twilight Zone.” I threw back the covers, and rushed to the
computer to confirm the day. Click. Click.
Whew! It really was Tuesday. But
wait! If it were the Twilight Zone, maybe the computer is wrong. I went to the Delta site and brought up my
flight information. It read “Two days
until your flight.” Double Whew! It really was Tuesday. I went back to bed.
A true story. Just
wait until you read about the voyage.
