Site Archéologique de Cucuruzzu
Cucuruzzu is where our human ancestors lived about 4000-5000 years ago. Yes, it’s really really old. Other groups and civilizations have lived in the area throughout the centuries. As I look through my pictures, I notice that they wouldn’t make much sense to someone who wasn’t there. So, I’ll just show you the photos without explanation. There were some nice views from a fortress. You decide….
At one point toward the end of the trail through the ruins, we came upon an area that held workshops of artisans creating things by hand….things that would have possibly been made during the prehistoric times.
One workshop was especially interesting to us. A man was creating knives completely by hand, with only the crudest of tools. He used stones and bone to create obsidian knives. Some of the knives had deer antler handles while others were wrapped in leather cord. This man’s skill was formidable. Here take a look.
When we returned, we gave it to Francis who was beyond surprised and pleased.
…and so it goes….
